What Does MetroPlusHealth Dental Coverage Cover?
If you’ve heard that $0 dental care is available in New York, you’re probably wondering how you can get free dental care. We have several plans like the Essential Plan and Child Health Plus that offer $0 dental care to income-qualified individuals and families based on family size and income.
Along with cost, what’s included in coverage is one of the first questions our members have. Whether you have kids who will almost certainly need braces or you’ve been putting off fillings and crowns for years, you’ll want to know what you can expect to be covered with MetroPlusHealth dental coverage. At MetroPlusHealth, dental coveragevaries by the health care plan you select. But, in general, you can expect these dental services to likely be covered by MetroPlusHealth and DentaQuest:
- Emergency care
- Preventative care
- Routine dental care like cleanings
- Full-mouth and panoramic x-rays
- Extractions and other routine dental surgery
- Most types of crowns
- Orthodontics and braces
What do I need to do because of this change?
You do not need to do anything. This change will happen automatically January 1, 2023.
Why did you change dental partners?
To continue to provide excellent quality of care to our members, we partnered with DentaQuest, as the larger network of providers and increased services will better address the needs of our members.
Can I continue to see my current dental provider?
Most likely yes. However, after January 1, 2023, you can use the DentaQuest online find-a-dentist tool to see if your provider is in the network.
Is there a network provider in my neighborhood?
The DentaQuest find-a-dentist tool can search for a dentist by location so you can choose a provider near where you live or work. You can use this tool beginning January 1, 2023. Just click here to find a dentist that’s right for you.
